Jim Botrie
Jim is an entrepreneur and search practitioner who has extensive experience developing effective processes and structures to deliver high-calibre candidates to his clients. His entire career has been focused on the assessment of individuals at various organizational levels and he has worked in human resources at a senior level.
In 1986 Jim left a senior HR position with a Fortune 500 company to form Botrie Associates, a retainer-based search firm servicing Canadian businesses for over 22 years. Botrie Associates grew to 20 consultants and was subsequently sold to Monster.com in 2001. He then went on to serve as Executive Vice President - Management Search for a global search organization with over $1 billion in sales, leading the North American mid-level search practice and the Recruitment Process Outsourcing business, where he grew revenue significantly over a three year period.
Jim has a Bachelors degree from York University and a Masters Degree from University of Toronto.
Randy De Piero
Throughout his career, Randy has always been committed to a hands-on relationship-based approach to serving his clients’ needs. Randy works primarily on senior positions that have a focus on growing a business and impacting change. As a result, the key to his success has been built around understanding the nuances of business and matching it with the right person to ensure long-term, mutual success.
Most recently Randy led the Canadian practice for a large international search firm, overseeing a team of 15 people. In addition to his management responsibilities, Randy remained actively involved in growing relationships and servicing client needs across all industry and functional streams.
Previously Randy was a Partner alongside Jim Botrie at Botrie Associates, where he began his career as a recruiter before holding a series of positions culminating in his appointment to Partner.
Randy received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Laurentian University.
Rick McDougall
Throughout his career Rick has focused on helping organizations successfully operationalize the process of recruitment research. Throughout this time Rick has managed teams, designed and implemented training programs and overseen large recruitment databases.
Rick most recently founded and managed a contract recruitment company, where he deployed a team of experienced individuals, managing both sales and delivery. Previously Rick worked for large search firms where he held various positions, including Director of Research, Database Manager and Senior Recruiter. Rick has a long history as a top-performing generalist recruiter with experience in all industries and functional areas.
Rick obtained a degree in Business Administration and Politics from Brock University.
Mark Nelson
Mark has spent his career developing innovative models for providing and procuring recruitment services. His combined senior management experience in both executive search and industry has provided him with a unique perspective that has inspired him to provide new strategic alternatives.
Mark most recently served as VP Talent for one of Canada’s fastest growing companies. He managed operations and human resources with a focus on finding top talent for this high-level strategy firm that services the healthcare industry as well as the broader public sector. His responsibilities included developing and implementing a recruitment process that efficiently reviewed 400 candidates per hire.
Previously Mark held the position of Director, Retained Search with a large recruitment organization where he developed extensive experience in selling and delivering senior search projects. Mark has held numerous progressive positions focusing on the recruitment process and creative client offerings.
Mark graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and began his career in corporate law.
